Emergency 24-Hour Loans Approved for 12 Missouri Counties
OzarksFirst.comKOLR10 Newsroom Monday, March 05, 2012
Residents impacted by last week's leap day tornadoes and storms now have extra help.
Missouri State Treasurer Clint Zweifel has authorized 12 counties to be eligible for emergency 24-hour approvals of low-interest loans from the Missouri Linked Deposit Program.
The Harmed-area Emergency Loan Priority system -- or HELP -- now applies to Barry, Bollinger, Cape Girardeau, Dallas, Laclede, Madison, Phelps, Pulaski, Scott, Stoddard, Stone and Taney counties.
Treasurer Zweifel says HELP eligible counties are determined through executive orders, disaster requests, State Emergency Management Agency and Federal Emergency Management Agency information and Agricultural Disaster Designations and Declarations.
He says normal loan approval time is 10 days.
