State Treasurer Clint Zweifel announced his support for House Bill 702, which was heard in the House Veterans Committee today. HB 702 will give Treasurer Zweifel more options to help return military medals held in Unclaimed Property to their owners. Treasurer Zweifel is working with Representative Vicki Englund, the bill sponsor, to ensure military medals are returned to their rightful owners or their heirs as soon as possible. Legislators from both sides of the aisle, including every member of the House Veterans Committee, are co-sponsoring the effort. The bill was unanimously voted out of the committee.

Missouri State Treasurer Clint Zweifel recently spent some time visiting with government students at Hazelwood West High School. Scott Jones, government teacher at HWHS, invited Zweifel to speak to students. “I sent out invitations to several political leaders and Tresurer Zweifel responded quickly and enthusiastically,” said Jones. “I included him in the invited because he is a West graduate, and I knew that he loves coming back to West to speak to our students.” Zweifel spoke to students about his time at HWHS and his time since graduating in 1992. He was happy to be back and speaking to students.
