State Treasurer Clint Zweifel (ZWY-ful) issued a statement following today’s release of his video in support of the Missouri Nondiscrimination Act (MONA). The video may be viewed here.
“Today in Missouri, a worker can be fired just for being gay. This policy is not only unjust, but also makes bad economic sense. When it is legal to fire someone for being gay, even though they are a good worker, we prevent our economy from reaching its full potential and that hurts all of us. It is wrong to fire someone because of their race, gender or religion, and it is wrong to fire someone because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. I support MONA because it is the right thing to do.” Read More
